Here’s a pretty little ditty for all you faithfuls out there with the two dangling white ear buds hanging down your chest. When you are walking to class instead of being pissed put a smile on your face. These songs are sure to make you, just play them in the right environment.
Location: Canon Pizza
Song: “Tonight (quintet version)” from West Side Story
When you walk by Canon Pizza on a Friday or Saturday play this bad boy. I am always waiting for the testosterone guys down there to break out into a sweet song and dance on the musical street that is East Beaver. Instead of the Sharks and Jets you have the Steelers vs. Eagles. Imagine how comical that would be seeing them all in their jerseys snapping their fingers and battling through dance. Real life needs more spur of the moment musical numbers
Location: Any Bus Stop
Song: “London Underground” by Adam Kay & Suman Biswas
Screw the wait at the bus stops. I always find myself waiting 10 minutes at a time for my mode of transit. Good thing those babies are powered by natural gases must give them some extra oomph to get to where they need to be. And when you finally get a frickin bus at the next stop you wait another 5-10 minutes for a smoke/driver change break. Listen to this song if you ever feel like going on a postal worker-shooting spree during your wait. Trust me, perfect song.
Location: Willard Building
Song: “Son of A Preacher Man” by Dusty Springfield
I think it is safe to say that everyone on campus has heard of or seen the Willard preacher. He always has a crowd around him after class listening and watching him waiting for whatever he may say next. The only one who could ever reach me was the son of a preacher man.
Location: Science Department
Song: “Particle Man” by They Might Be Giants
Have you ever seen that episode of Tiny Toon Adventures when every skit is a different song? Well I believe Plucky Duck had this one. If you never seen it search it up on youtube.com. I purpose that our science departments have a fight like this one though. Settle it once and for all, which has it the roughest. Is it particle man (chemistry), person man (biology), triangle man (physics), or universe man (astronomy)?
Location: East Halls
Song: “Oh My God” by Keiser Chiefs
You remember the old freshman days (or you may be making those memories now). It was a new experience that we all loved. Just learning what it was to be away from the Bird’s nest and to be a true College Student. “Oh my god, I can’t believe it I never been this far away from home”. Listen to it and reminisce.
Location: Anywhere
Pop on anything Disney and live the dream. You have to smile when you listen to “Prince Ali”, “Hakuna Matata”, “Zero to Hero”, “Eye to Eye” or anything from the cartoon age that we all have to miss.
